Hi, has anyone got work in Florence although their Italian is limited? I am learning back home and want to move to Florence for a little while but was wondering what the job market is like for a non fluent speaker. I am a law school grad with an interest in fashion and want a break from the norm ! Also, can anyone recommend a good language school? What are the nice areas to live in around florence..... I need something 'girl friendly' and what sort of price is a studio flat? Please let me know if you have been in a similar situation :0)
I know a lot of people who have been in your situation Anyway ... yes you can work also without perfect italian ... bars and clubs always look for bartenders and waitresses of english motherlanguage. About school ... the cheapest one I know is the CENTRO DI CULTURA PER STRANIERI ... it's through the florence university and it's the cheapest if you want to stay about 3 months ...
I am in a similar situation... I am coming to Firenze to study at Centro Di Cultura Per Stranieri at UniFi.. but i plain to stay until June 16, because i want to learn FLUENT italian and study other courses as well.
I intended on going to law school, but i decided to take 1-year off to learn a new language/culture.
I need a job, too. My italian is very minimal, but i speak fluent English AND Spanish... where can i find Jobs?? My apartment is near il Uffizi.
